We mainly produce titanium powder by hydrodehydrogenation (HDH).
The HDH method uses sponge titanium to absorb hydrogen to produce brittleness, which is easy to be mechanically crushed to produce titanium hydride powder, which is then dehydrogenated at high temperature under vacuum to obtain pure titanium powder. We use a horizontal hydrogenation furnace, which The hydrogenation reaction occurs when the temperature rises above 350℃, and then the temperature rises, the reaction begins to be violent, and a large amount of hydrogen is absorbed rapidly, the hydrogen is kept for 3h, and then slowly cooled to room temperature in a hydrogen atmosphere, the hydrogen content can be obtained at 3.8% ±0.2% of titanium hydride powder, then ball milled under the protection of protective gas, through ball milling, we can obtain titanium hydride with different particle sizes. Put the ground titanium hydride into the furnace for dehydrogenation reaction. Under vacuum conditions, the temperature rises to above 680°C. At this time, the titanium hydride quickly decomposes hydrogen, and the entire dehydrogenation process maintains a low vacuum and continues for About 19h.
